This iconic 1.2 million gallon elevated water tank stands 212 feet high above the University of South Florida's campus, as a beacon for academic and athletic achievement. For maximum corrosion resistance, all existing coatings were sandblasted off and Tnemec's Series 94H2O Hydro-Zinc was applied to both the interior of the exterior of the tank. On the interior, Series 94H2O was topcoated with Tnemec's NSF-600 compliant Series 21 Epoxoline, and the exterior utilized Series N69/1095/700 for best-in-class resistance to Florida's harsh weather and UV conditions. The Series 700 Hydroflon finish coat will keep the graphics looking brand new for many years.
This elevated tank provides water to the entire USF campus and hospital, making its downtime extraordinarily challenging. With that in mind, USF chose ultimate protection, inside and out, so as to not be worried about downtime for decades to come.
